In the spirit of the 1940’s

Mission: To bring back the 1940’s
Date: 16th & 17th August 2014

Bang – What a Weekend! Le Roti were proud to be part of Lythams Wartime Weekend where the 1940’s was back with a bang!

The weekend brought thousands of visitors to Lytham and although the sun didn’t shine it didn’t dampen their spirits.

The green was full of historical vehicles, memorabilia, demonstrations and a living history camp. ‘The Arena’ put on a fantastic display with a mock WW2 battle scene using authentic equipment and uniforms. There was also music and dance performed by the Red Rosettes Chorus group and family fun as children were put through an obstacle course and learning a home guard drill.

Le Roti was decked out in patriotic flags and our chefs were dressed to impress, the boys were sporting a Homeguard Hat and Ladies a Military blue hat with Aviator pin badges. Our chefs commented:
Nikki “It was a great weekend, one of our busiest Sundays to date” and Matt “The atmosphere was fantastic, lots of very enthusiastic people enjoying their day”

We had an offer of a free Nespresso coffee when you purchased a cake which was a roaring success. Our best seller was obviously our Cheeky Chickens, selling out at 16:58 hrs on Sunday just in time for closing!

We are looking forward to getting involved in the next event and have packed our costumes and decorations away until next year.

Signing out!
